Tell Me
Will this rainbow shark eat my tetras and platies?
10 Gallon tank, cleaned weekly, 20% water change and gravel vac'd. The tank contains for hiding/decoration:
4 plastic plants,
a big jar with holes in it for hiding (bought at the fish shop),
a FAKE coral decoration,
and a fake plastic log with tiny plants growing on it.
I have had a tank going on it's 3rd week. I started with 2 platies (1 male 1 female). I then added another female platie that was breathing heavily and looked really stressed out. The next day both of my females were dead. I then got 2 more (asked for female) platies, 1 female and 1 male that is large and chases the other fish around. I also have 3 neon tetras. The store said that was enough to have them school, but I haven't really seen it.
I purchased a Pictus Catfish and it ran havoc through the tank, that lasted about 15 minutes before I brought him back. The store said that a rainbow shark would be a good bottom feeder for my tank, but everything I read makes me think otherwise. He seems to be keeping to himself, but it has only been about 10 minutes.
Any comments or suggestions would be great.
